January 2008 Meeting:

Our most recent OSAC event took place on January 17, 2008 at the Mexico Headquarters of British American Tobacco. The event, titled "Cargo Theft and Security", was a success with over 40 participants representing nearly two dozen companies and organizations. The well-researched presentation was given by Maureen Russell, OSAC Coordinator for Central America, the Caribbean, & Canada. She was accompanied by Jackee Schools, Chief of OSAC’s Research and Information Support Center. OSAC Monterrey would like to thank both OSAC representatives for their time and effort in making the event a success.

To continue with this important project geared toward safeguarding cargo more effectively, the Monterrey Chapter will gather benchmarking information from the participating companies and will present the results in the coming event: “Best Practices in Cargo Security” to be held during February 2008. Beside the presentation of the benchmarking results, two OSAC companies will present their strategies and tactics.

OSAC Monterrey would also like to thank British American Tobacco Mexico for hosting the event at their Mexico Headquarters. The event would not have been such a success without their valuable support. Last, but not least, a special thanks is in order for Lupina De Euzkariatza (Amcham Monterrey) and Monterrey OSAC’s Executive Committee Chairman Gustavo Herman (Hershey’s). Their hard work in putting this event together is greatly appreciated.
