RSO Open Letter
Open Letter From RSO Michael A. Murphy

January 14, 2010
Last year, the Monterrey OSAC Chapter built momentum to carry forward into 2010. One of my top priorities for this new year is to facilitate a strong partnership with public and private U.S. affiliated organizations and companies through our local OSAC Chapter. Working together, we can contribute significantly and have a positive impact on security-related issues affecting the US private sector operating in and around Monterrey. We have developed an effective partnership between OSAC Monterrey and Amcham Monterrey which has made the local OSAC chapter strong and vibrant. Our goals and objectives for 2010 will continue to be:
-To establish continuing liaison and to provide for operational security cooperation between State Department security functions and the Private Sector.
-To provide for regular and timely interchange of information between the Private Sector and the State Department concerning developments in the overseas security environment.
-To recommend methods and provide material for coordinating security planning and implementation of security programs.
-To recommend methods to protect the competitiveness of American businesses operating worldwide.
Active private sector and Non-Governmental Organization participation is crucial to ensure a strong and vibrant OSAC Council. The Council requires dedicated individuals to serve in various capacities on the Executive Committee. These are vital positions that must be filled for us to continually move forward in this endeavor. Representatives from your organizations are strongly encouraged to be active participants in the OSAC Executive Committee to ensure this partnership continues.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank those dedicated individuals who are currently serving on Monterrey’s Executive Committee. Your time and effort have made our OSAC Chapter a success. I’d also like to express my gratitude to Amcham Monterrey for their continued support to the OSAC goals and mission in Monterrey.
I look forward to working together in making Monterrey’s OSAC Chapter a success. Stay tuned for news regarding our scheduled events for 2010.
